Strengthen Your Body, Empower Your Journey

Strengthen Your Body, Empower Your Journey

Bariatric surgery remains the most effective and safest treatment for the disease of obesity. It is a giant step we can take towards a healthier, happier life.

But as your body adjusts to the new way of eating and absorbing nutrients, it's important to support its transformation with the right kind of exercise. Strength training is a crucial component of post-bariatric surgery recovery. It can even be something your incorport before surgery to be better prepared for recovery and life "on the lighter side".

As patient's ourselves, we also know how intimidating and overwhelming starting a strength training program can be. We might not know how to use the equipment at the gym or we are feeling some "gymtimidation" (not feeling comfortable at the gym). Maybe we are worried about injuring ourselves and we just don't know where to start.

Joining a community of like minded bariatric patients where you can connect with experts in real time to learn the basics can be one of the BEST decisions you make along your bariatric journey.

Here's why strength training matters:

  • Increased muscle mass: As you lose weight, it's essential to maintain muscle mass. Strength training helps prevent muscle loss and promotes a healthy body composition.
  • Improved metabolism: Building muscle can boost your metabolism, helping you maintain your weight loss and burn more calories.
  • Enhanced functional ability: Stronger muscles can improve your overall functional ability, making everyday activities easier and more enjoyable. It can even help us maintain our new, low weight.
  • Boosted self-esteem: As you see your body become stronger and more toned, your self-esteem and confidence will soar.
